At Partners, we draw our strength from our diversity, and by partnering with diverse groups within The Walt Disney Company, we have opportunities to learn from others, develop empathy, and share our stories.
At seven AMC movie theaters across the nation, Partners joined forces with the Wakanda United collective Business Employee Resource Group (BERG) in California, Florida, Washington D.C., Connecticut, and New York to celebrate the release of Disney’s newest film highlighting African American heritage at a special showing of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on Thursday, November 10.
Wakanda United is part of an overarching Black BERG, “The Bond,” which represents seven Black BERGs on both coasts. Invitees included BERG cast and employees, Disney Ambassadors, and Partners cast members.
“Celebrating our diversity as a Company with cast members and employees from across all segments and locations was wonderful.” said Jennifer M., Manager, Member Education and Development. “It was a living, breathing example of how we can deliver on our brand promise of innovative products and solutions in a way that encourages that foundation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.”
Partners sponsored photo backdrops for invitees to capture memories of the event and Wakanda Forever t-shirts to enjoy for years to come. Coming together with BERGs and Affinity Groups is just one way Partners seeks to build community and a sense of belonging, where all who come are welcome.
